| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to clarify Lawrence's views on education and re-evaluate him as of present. Comparing his assertions with the historical situations and problems of the educational system in England, I will examine the basis of his thought. Specifically, I shall delve into his three essays on education, 'Art and the Individuar, 'Education of the People', and 'Fantasia of the Unconscious'. At the same time, I will point out a change that had taken place in his thoughts on school education in the above works, which, I think, is strongly related to the behavior of the characters in his novels. As a result, I hope the philosophical meanings of his educational views will become more apparent. | |||||||||||||
