The students took the TOEIC in April, 2005 and February, 2006 - the beginning and end of the school year. A unified test for the first year required English class was glVen aS the final examination each semester - in July, 2005 and February, 2006. Discusslng the definitions of reliability and validity in terms of test construction and implementation, the reliability and the validity of these two kinds of tests are examined.
