In order to detect the magnetic field components of the high frequency electromagneticwave, the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) phenomena was utilized. The FMR enhances the sensitivity of the MO effect at aselected frequency band in the DC bias magnetic field. For the practical use, the applied magnetic field should be smaller becausethe conventional electromagnets generate approximately 20 kOe at the maximum. In order to decrease the magnetic field, the largemagnetic anisotropy with in-plane of the (Bi,Lu)3Fe5O12 (110) film was utilized. The film was grown on the <110> oriented singlecrystal Gd3Ga5O12 substrate by liquid phase epitaxy technique. The FMR field of this film becomes approximately 2 kOe, whichis smaller than the case of (Bi,Lu)3(Fe,Ga)5O12 film or the (111) film.
