The CCNFs were grown on Ni/SiO2/Si and Ni/Mo mesh substrates using a bias-enhanced growth method, and they were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The cones are composed of cylindrical pure graphite sheets, and have nanometer-sized tips and roots.
