In order to induce these students into practical English, it is desirable to make them aware the real world of "englishes". For this purpose, a computer aided class room is ideal, as students can carry on their study at their own pace. The appropriate teaching material for Japanese students learning English in Japan at the moment may be something for TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication), as their efforts will surely pay off as a token for their success. Thus, the author is now experimenting the computer aided English teaching with 269 first and second year students at Nagoya Institute of Technology. With this programme, the students are able to pay their attention to the practical use of English in the real world, while reviewing the already learnt matters, or learning new words and usages on their own pace.
