We demonstrate a novel nanotechnology for rapid surface modification of TiO₂ by using microwave induced non-hydrogen plasmas towards highly efficient visible-light photocatalyst. The synthesized TiO₂-TiOx core-shell particle shows the super narrow bandgap(1.1 eV~)in addition to the outstanding light absorbing capacity ranging from UV to NIR. Moreover, the surface chemical composition of TiOx is precisely controlled in a wide region of 1.19 < x < 1.92.
